A new chapter in sustainable glass production is beginning in Stadskanaal, Netherlands. Global Glass Leadus, a joint venture between Global Glass Group, Netherlands, and HK Leadus Innovation, China, is opening the world’s first circular vacuum insulating glass (VIG) factory.
The world first venture will put the Netherlands on the map as a centre of glass innovation in Northwest Europe.
This marks a significant milestone in Leadus’s international expansion strategy, as well as a deepened partnership built on trust and collaboration.
Global Glass Leadus is committed to creating a sustainable, circular and low-carbon demonstration factory. It will also bring continuous technological breakthroughs and updates, providing more choices for the market.
After an intensive period of collaboration and preparation, the first panes are expected to roll off the production line in 2026. It heralds a new era for the European glass industry: locally produced, circular and with minimal environmental impact.
