The Belgian firm Glaceries Saint-Roch (part of the French Saint-Gobain group) has acquired the Belgian companies Conforglass and Markus. These acquisitions are subject to approval by the competition council. Conforglass manufactures insulating glass and had a 1996 turnover of BFr 90 million while Markus operates in the insulating glass installation sector and had a 1996 turnover of BFr 36 million.
