Furnotherm announced the successful execution of a greenfield container glass melting furnace project for Sevam in Casablanca, Morocco, assigned to BDF industries.
The project comprised the construction and commissioning of a 92 square metre container glass furnace, designed by BDF Industries, equipped with three state of the art forehearth lines.
Key highlights of the project include:
- Installation of 2750 MT of refractory and erection of a 567 MT pre-fabricated steel structures
- Erection of a 53 metre high metallic chimney
- Assembly & installation of cooling and combustion ducting for the furnace, forehearth and IS machine all supplied by BDF Industries
- Installation of complete utility piping and utility skids
- Comprehensive electrical and instrumentation works, including cabling, connections, wiring and installation of electrical equipment
- Installation of all furnace and forehearth equipment
- Successful heat-up, cullet filling and hot sealing
The furnace was successfully commissioned in August 2025.
