In early April this year, the electronic technology company, Fisher-Rosemount GmbH, based in Hasselroth, Germany, acquired another German operation, the process temperature sensor business Heraeus Sensor GmbH. Fisher-Rosemount, which is part of the Emerson Electric Company of the United States, bought the business from Germany“s Heraeus Group. Heraeus Sensor operations include the manufacturing of temperature sensors at sites in Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Italy, with a sales office in Austria. The company“s name remains unchanged, as does the location of its head office. The Heraeus Group has retained its primary resistor temperature device (RTD) element production and also its high volume sensor business, renaming them Heraeus Sensor-Nite. Speaking about the deal, the president of Rosemount“s Measurement Division, Mr. Ed Monser, described the acquisition as “an excellent strategic fit” which would complement Fisher-Rosemount“s premium temperature transmitter range.
