Indian opal glassware manufacturer La Opala Glass (LOGL) has a market share of 85%. Its plant is located at Madhupur in Bihar with an installed capacity of 688 tonnes per annum (tpa). The capacity for 1993-94 had reached 2,064 tpa. LOGL also manufactures crystalware with an initial capacity of 1,500 kilograms per day. The project cost is Rs 8.61 crore. LOGL had entered the capital market to finance the project in February 1995. The project was set up in collaboration with Doosan Glass of Korea. The sales of LOGL for 1994-95 were Rs 14.20 crore, profit before tax was Rs 1.30 crore, net profit was Rs 1.07 crore, equity was at Rs 3.38 crore and EPS at Rs 3.17. The scrip price is Rs 40.
