Deutsche Spezialglas AG (Desag), a majority owned subsidiary of the Schott group, increased its year-end profit to DM 14.8 million in 1994/95 (year ending 30 September 1995) from DM 6.4 million the previous year. The company is therefore proposing an increase in the dividend from DM 8 to DM 10 per DM 50 nominal share. It will also transfer DM 8.8 million to profit reserves, compared with DM 2.1 million the previous year. The German special glass company said its sales and capacity utilisation improved in 1994/95. Turn-over rose by 1% to DM 220 million. However, turn-over and profits are expected to fall this year. The order inflow was down 25% in the second half of 1995.
