GB Glass Ltd. has recently changed its name to Demaglass Ltd. As well as a change of name, the British company announced a significant restructure and unveiled a bold new corporate identity. The new company, Demaglass Ltd., becomes the holding company with four operating divisions (Demaglass Tableware, Demaglass Lighting, Demaglass Pharmaceutical and Demaglass Technology). The move reflects the management“s commitment to become wholly customer focused. The creation of a new division, Demaglass Pharmaceutical, is from the company“s former tubing division, and evidence of the need to tailor both product and marketing towards specific market sectors. With the restructuring comes the unveiling of a new livery in green, orange and white; this incorporates a flow of white hot molten glass to form a glass tube, all in the shape of a stylised “d“. The device becomes the common identity for the group and its divisions. Gone with the old GB Glass name are the series of coloured ovals and interlocking “D“ shape logos, although the “Dema“ name is retained in abbreviated form as the brand name for tableware. Furthermore, with a massive UK 27.4 million investment announced on 7 November 1995, the company explains that it now has the financial “muscle” to invest in product quality, service and marketing, and the commitment to become the lowest cost producer.
