Spanish glassmaker, Cristaleria Espanola, a subsidiary of the French group Saint-Gobain has reported net profits of Pta 3.0 billion for the first quarter of 1996, on sales of Pta 36.5 billion. Both these figures were down slightly on those for the first quarter of 1995, when the company saw profits of Pta 3,060 million and turnover of Pta 36,782 million. The Spanish company reported a 1995 turnover figure of Pta 52,384 million in 1995, up 12% on 1994. The company shareholders meeting has approved payment of a 1995 dividend of Pta 220 per share, an increase of 46.6%. It has also been announced that Rafael de Ramon Garcia has been appointed director-general of the Cristaleria Espanola unit Funditubo.
