Cristaleria Espanola first half profits down

For the six months to June 1996, Cristaleria Espanola, the quoted Spanish subsidiary of French group Saint-Gobain, reported a 19% drop in net consolidated profit to Pta 6.33 billion from Pta 7.86 billion for the same period of the preceeding year, while turnover was down slightly at Pta 75.33 billion (Pta 75.80 billion). However, the parent company net profit rose 12% to stand at Pta 5.35 billion (from Pta 4.77 billion). It has also been announced that Jesus Nebot has been appointed director-general responsible for glass construction at Grupo Cristaleria Espanola, the group which includes Cristaleria Espanola, Covina, and La Veneciana.
