Spanish Cristales Curvados S.A., a manufacturer of flat and bent laminated glass and bent tempered glass, has announced a EUR 6 million investment to enlarge its production facilities in Granollers (Barcelona, northeast Spain), over the next few years. The plan will see a doubling in the area of the plant from its current 7,200 m sq to 14,000 m sq. Cricursa, which has another 1,000 m sq facility in Barcelona province, expects to allocate the expanded area to manufacturing a new type of glass. Cricursa recently acquired a license to manufacture the glass from the US company which holds the patent. In 2002 Cricursa posted income of EUR 12.6 million. Approximately 50% of turnover comes from exports. Cricursa has EUR 2.4 million in its own resources and a workforce of 100.
