Corning Incorporated announced 24 February 2005 that Frank J. Glauner, director of information technology for Corning Display Technologies has been recognized by Computerworld magazine as one of the business world“s “Premier 100 IT Leaders.” The publication“s award honors executives who show exemplary technology leadership in resolving business problems. Glauner will be honored at Computerworld“s Premier 100 IT Leaders Conference 6-8 March 2005 at the Marriott Desert Ridge Resort, Scottsdale, Arizona. Glauner was selected from nearly 600 nominees, who were measured against Computerworld“s IT Leadership Index, a set of characteristics that describes executives who guide the effective use of IT in their organizations. The field of nominees was evaluated by the editors and by an external panel of judges. Other honorees include IT executives from corporations such as UPS, Hewlett-Packard, MasterCard International LLC and AFLAC. Corning is a leading supplier of substrates for the liquid crystal display (LCD) industry. Glauner is currently leading the IT activities to support Corning“s significant business expansions that are meeting the growing needs of the LCD industry worldwide. Since joining Corning as a manufacturing systems specialist in 1976, he has served in leadership positions within the IT function in various global business units as well as corporate IT. In lauding Glauner“s honor from Computerworld, Corning Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Kirk Gregg said, “Information technology is an integral part of our competitive success, particularly as we capitalize on growth opportunities around the world.
