In August 1995, the new “continuous furnace” designed entirely by Bedogni & C. began production. This plant, installed at the Industria Vetraria Valdarnese (IVV) glassworks near Arezzo, Italy, was especially designed for the production of high-quality crystal glass and has a capacity of 12 tpd. According to the company, it is the first plant of its kind and was developed in agreement with UNI(EN) regulations. It is technologically advanced, thanks also to IVV“s production experience which has been accumulated over the years, Bedogni & C. added. Bedogni & C. was founded by Luciano Bedogni in 1968 under the name of Italrefrattari. At that time it was mainly a commercial concern dealing in refractory products for glass melting tanks. In 1981, Mr. Bedogni“s son, Daniele, added a design and construction department to the activity, enabling the company to carry out all phases of complete glass melting tank production. In 1989, the company reinforced its market presence: 15% of it was purchased by the Vailati Group (a well-known multinational in the chemical/glass industry) and its name was changed to Bedogni & C. From that point on, Mr. Bedogni“s two sons, Daniele and Francesco managed the company. Today, the operating objective of Bedogni & C. is to develop turn-key glassworks for the production of artistic glass. The company is, above all, specialised in the construction of the “core” of the factory: glass melting tanks. The company is leanly structured, it can handle the construction of melting tanks varying from 50 kg up to 28 tonnes and offers continuous assistance, thus ensuring high-quality standards. Positioned in the heart of Tuscany, approximately 25 km from Florence, not only is it located in the land of art, but also in the region of technology. Bedogni & C.“s plant covers an area of approx. 1,000 sq. m. and boasts a 17 full-time workforce with another 43 part-time workers. In addition to the company“s administrative and executive offices, the area comprises a design studio, mechanical workshop, electronic construction laboratory and a warehouse for machine storage and for the flow of the company“s finished products: chemicals, refractories, etc. The company also points out that after having produced some of the most important plants on a national scale, Bedogni & C. is ready to look beyond the borders of Italy and offer its expertise abroad. Mr. Daniele Bedogni is in charge of development and is available for any further information.
