The first phase of the new headquarters of Bystronic Group company Armatec Vierhaus GmbH in Gunzenhausen, Germany is scheduled for completion in January 2008, just five months after ground was broken in August 2007. Moving to new facilities became a matter of necessity after two highly successful business years in which sales numbers nearly doubled and employee numbers surged from 45 to 63. The new facilities will consist of a 70 x 50 meter production hall incorporating a three-storey office building. Due to the company“s full order book, the move must happen as quickly as possible. The production hall will therefore be completed in January 2008, with the administration building following just three months later. The total cost of the new HQ is around EUR 5 million. According to information from Armatec company president Bernd Bedner, the main consideration in the design of the buildings has been the creation of a pleasant working environment. “Mostly, we will be able to carry out production in natural lighting conditions. This will be possible thanks to high light arcs on the sides of the halls as well as light domes that cover an area of 250 square metres on the roof. We are certain that our employees will feel very comfortable working in this environment. At the same time, the new building offers us the opportunity to optimise sequences and processes”. Armatec Vierhaus GmbH has already set the wheels in motion for future growth by securing an option on an additional 5500 square metres of production area.
