Compressed air is an important part of the glass container production process. In North America, Ardagh Group has more than 100 air compressors throughout its glass production facilities.
These large air compressors account for a significant portion of the electricity usage in these glass facilities, so eliminating leaks in the compressed air distribution system is essential to reduce waste and save energy.
Since 2014, Ardagh Group has conducted regular compressed air leak audits at its facilities. This year, during the second annual compressed air competition, the Pevely, Missouri glass manufacturing facility achieved the best overall score, with a 77 percent repair rate.
