On 3 December, Apogee Enterprises, Inc. of the United States announced that Harmon AutoGlass, its fully-owned US subsidiary, has signed a definitive agreement to purchase Portland Glass in a stock-for-stock deal. Not included in the deal are Portland“s replacement window and commercial construction divisions, which will continue to operate under their existing management and ownership. Apogee the deal to be concluded in January. Portland Glass is a leading regional autoglass retailer in the Northeast of the United States. At present, Harmon AutoGlass is the nation“s third largest autoglass retailer, with more than 270 shops in 36 states. The Portland Glass acquisition will add four new states to the Harmon AutoGlass distribution area: Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont .
