At its last general meeting Glavunion, the Czech glass producer decided, as in the previous year, not to pay dividends for 1995. Glavunion spokeswoman Olga Valova announced that the firm will use the 1995 profit of Czk 135 million for investing back into the company. Last year“s sales, of Czk 5.2 billion, were up Czk 1 billion from 1994, but net profit was Czk 35 million lower than in 1994. Last year“s exports were worth Czk 3.4 billion. This year“s turnover should rise to Czk 6 billion, and gross profit is expected to be Czk 190 million. Glavunion“s share capital is Czk 3.5 billion, and its majority owner, Glaverbel, with 73.1% of the shares, is trying to buy the stake of Czech company Sklounion, which has 26.85%.
