An announcement made by Walter Co. Maschinen GmbH recently stated that delivery has been made of the first of three double gob press lines for tableware ordered by Saudi Arabian client, Mahmood Saeed Glass Industry Company. According to the German firm, it won the order despite fierce competition because of the line“s excellent technical design and the company“s reputation for efficient service as well as an experienced commissioning team that also does production training and mould maintenance. Walter Co. also said that this new client has little experience with automatic press production and that by purchasing the complete machinery package, the client will have the assurance of production efficiency. Some characteristics of the line which were given include robust machine construction, fast hydraulic press station for guaranteeing high productivity without compromising quality, and table drive with three-phase servomotor. Further line features pointed out were direct article transfer from press onto the fire polishing machine, line operation via keyboard, screen with context-sensitive help, and short change-over times by article-specific programme storage disk.
