As part of its privatisation plan, international investors have been invited to submit tenders to buy 51% of Tunisian glass producer Societe Tunisienne de Verrerie (Sotuver) by 20 June. The remaining 49% will be sold to the public on the Tunis stock exchange immediately after the sale of the controlling share. State-owned Banque de Developpement Economique de Tunisie (BDET) is the largest shareholder, with 30% of Sotuver“s Din 2.7 million (US$ 2.8 million) capital. The other main shareholders are Banque Tuniso-Koweitienne de Developpement, with 15%, and Banque Nationale Agricole, with 8%. Just under 10% is owned by two private investors. Sotuver had a turnover of Din 11.2 million (US$ 11.4 million) in 1995 and made a Din 704,000 (US$ 717,000) profit before tax.
