Professor Sir Roland Smith, 67, also chairman of Manchester United football club, is to retire in May after a decade as non-executive chairman of Britain“s Hepworth, the building materials group. Jeremy Lancaster, chairman of Rexam and former chairman and chief executive of Wolseley, has joined the board as a non-executive director and will succeed Sir Roland on 28 May this year.
