Switzerland“s Gurit-Essex AG, an associate of Gurit-Heberlein, has acquired the structural adhesives business of Ciba Polymers. This will reportedly enable Gurit-Essex to strengthen its position as a key supplier of adhesives and sealing systems to the automobile industry. A joint venture has been established with a US supplier to manufacture sealants for the European market. Production commenced at Duttlenheim, France, in October 1996.
