8 January 1998: A new glass furnace and glass production equipment have been unveiled at the Rigas Stikli (Riga Glass) plant in Latvia. The furnace is said to be the largest and the most state-of-the-art in the Baltic states. The new equipment will enable the company to meet the demand of local drinks producers for locally-produced glass bottles.
