15 April 1999: Zytel 70G35 35% glass-fibre reinforced polyamide 6,6 from DuPont has been chosen by Daimler-Benz and Woco, its systems supplier, to replace aluminium in the production of pedal-bracket plate for the Mercedes-Benz A-class compact car. According to a recent report, the new grade better meets mechanical load requirements and offers low warpage, good dimensional stability and the necessary chemical and thermal resistance. Pedal brackets composed of the material are to be introduced by Daimler-Benz to other cars in its range.
