Label technology group Avery Dennison has reported record-breaking third quarter sales of over US$ 1 billion. Revenues increased by 4.2% from the US$ 961 million reported for the third quarter of 1999, and from US$ 993.4 million in the previous quarter. For the first nine months of 2000, sales neared US$ 3 billion, up 4.9% on the corresponding 1999 figure. The company reported a pre-tax profit of US$ 340.3 million. “We are very pleased with our results for the third quarter in a period of challenging global business conditions and currency fluctuations,” said chairman and CEO Philip Neal.
