Vidriera del Atlantico, a new Spanish bottle producer, is making preparations to manufacture glass containers in small numbers for food and wine according to Emballages Magazine. The company, located at Xinzo de Limia, in the Galician province of Orense, possesses a small furnace which enables it to manufacture from 100,000 to 1 million bottles. It aims to supply 1.7% of the Spanish glass market. Supported by the regional government of Galicia, the company has invested Euro 21 million in the project which includes a furnace for white glass and a furnace for green glass. A second furnace for coloured glass is planned for the future. Turnover forecast for the first year is Euro 13.82 million.
