Mexico“s Vitro has launched Vitromart, its new store chain dedicated to the distribution of architectural and construction glass, with the opening of store number one on 3 June 2003. Vitromart El Castillo, in San Nicolas de los Garza, a suburban area of Monterrey, is the first of a planned chain of 150 outlets in a hundred cities across the country. The aim of the Vitromart chain is growth and profitability in Vitro“s glass distribution channel through better integration with its value chain, greater proximity to final consumers, and consolidation of the company“s market share in Mexico. The company said that Vitromart will meet the needs of architects, construction professionals, interior designers, installers, product processing businesses, as well as of retailers, furniture manufacturers and home owners. “Vitromart will strengthen the construction and interior“s design commercial channel by integrating its dealers to the distribution process in order to support their profitability and growth”, said Humberto Flores, Flat Glass“ Commercial Director.
