Austrian glassware manufacturer Riedel Tiroler Glashuette GesmbH increased its turnover by 15% year-on-year to EUR 100 million (USD 130.3 million) in 2004, the company said on 25 January 2005. German subsidiary Nachtmann generated turnover of EUR 124 million (USD 161.5 million). Riedel plans to move the automated production of series of glasses, which are currently made by affiliated companies, to Nachtmann“s plants in Amberg bei Nuremberg and Riedlhuette bei Passau. The rise in turnover in 2004 is attributed to the success of the new “O” glass series, sales of which reached 2.2 million. The largest growth in turnover was achieved by Riedel“s subsidiaries in North America and Japan, which registered rises of 40% and 25% respectively. North America accounts for 44% of the turnover, while Europe and Asia 45% and 9.0% respectively. (Note: Unless otherwise stated, all figures/comparisons are for 2004/2003.)
