Germany“s Lauscha Fiber International will invest EUR 10 million to produce super thin fiberglass in the Vladimir region, according to a source on the local industry and science committee. The company will set up a joint venture with Moscow regional company Stekloplastik for the project. “Production will be set up at Sudogodskoye Steklovolokno. About half of the investment will be spent on technological equipment,” the committee source said. Stage one includes production of 2,000 tonnes of super fine fiber, he said. Lauscha Feiber will then build a furnace to produce granules for fiberglass production. Production will begin in late April 2006. The new plant will reach full capacity in 2008, he said. Stekloplastik makes multifunctional fiberglass materials and composites. Sudogodskoye Steklovolokno produces fabric from chemical and mineral fibers, industrial fabric, sheet, and fiberglass. Lauscha Fiber International“s existing facilities are located at Lauscha, central eastern Germany and Summerville, South Carolina, USA.
