Green Building Studio, Inc., (GBS) a sustainability analysis software and services company for the architectural, engineering, and construction industry, announced 8 June 2006 that PPG Industries has selected Green Building Studio“s custom Product Placement Advisor web service to promote its Solarban 70XL glass product line to building designers. The Product Placement Advisor (PPA) is a new feature of the widely available, award-winning Green Building Studio web service. PPG“s Solarban 70XL glass enables designers to maximize natural lighting opportunities while minimizing the required cooling equipment with a clear glass aesthetic. The Green Building Studio web service is the first web service specifically designed for architects to use at the earliest phase of their design to fully understand the cost-effective opportunities to maximize their building“s sustainability. The Product Placement Advisor specifically targets a manufacturer“s product to the building designs they identify as their ideal market and allows building designers to automatically have the product applied to their building design for immediate determination of the possible energy and resource benefits. “We needed to find a new and more effective channel to reach active design projects where the benefits of PPG Industries“ products could be determined at the earliest phase of a project based on the actual building design. Not only was [GBS PPA] the only solution on the market to accomplish this, but it provides an architect with a very powerful tool for improving the energy efficiency of their buildings”, said Robert Struble, PPG“s marketing communications manager. “We have designed the Product Placement Advisor to greatly reduce the time for building product manufacturers to qualify active design projects and have their products applied to the building projects that make the most sense for the given product”, said John Kennedy, President & CTO of Green Building Studio, Inc.
