Israel“s Oran Safety Glass plans to open its first US production facility in Greensville County, Virginia, creating 50 jobs, Governor Timothy M. Kaine announced 16 August 2006. The planned USD 4.1 million facility will supply bulletproof glass for US military vehicles, Kaine said. “The Virginia location serves OSG well, as it is close to our marketing office”, said Gabi Magen, the company“s chief executive officer. “We look forward to starting production as soon as possible to deliver products that will protect US troops”. Governor Kaine approved a USD 125,000 grant from the Governor“s Opportunity Fund, and the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission approved USD 125,000 for the project. Virginia competed with North Carolina for the plant.
