Emirates Glass LLC (EGL), one of the leading processors of architectural flat glass in the middle east and a subsidiary of Glass LLC, which is wholly owned by Dubai Investments (DI), has announced that it has successfully supplied 8,000 square metres of its EmiCool High performance glass products to the Etihad Airways Terminal at Abu Dhabi airport. Emirates Glass completed the delivery of EmiTherm sealed insulated glass units comprising an 8mm Emicool Plus NE270 Grey outer pane and a 17.52mm clear laminated inner pane. As well as light and heat control, the units offer acoustic insulation, which is an important aspect of modern airport design. Folcra Beach Industrial Company LLC is the architectural aluminium curtainwall contractor for the project. Mr. Ziad Yazbeck, general manager, Emirates Glass, said: “We are pleased to have been able to supply our products before the delivery date which shows our firm commitment to our clients and consolidates our strength in being a world class supplier of premium glass products for prestigious projects such as the Abu Dhabi airport”. The Etihad Airways terminal project is part of the USD 6.8 billion Abu Dhabi airport expansion programme. It is the second time Emirates Glass has supplied the Abu Dhabi Airport with its glass products. The company had previously supplied products to the airport“s temporary terminal in 2005″. “These diverse contracts from various projects in the UAE and the region are due to our consistent efforts on upgrading and expanding our product line. Our ongoing expansion programme has greatly enhanced our chances of getting fresh contracts, thereby affirming our position as market leaders”, said Mr. Yazbeck.
