Following the finalization of the sale of Ford Motor Co.“s glass operations on 14 April 2008, Zeledyne LLC company chairman Robert Price said the firm will focus on growing the worldwide automotive and architectural business and keeping hundreds of well-paying jobs in place. No financial terms were disclosed. The purchase covers Ford“s glass plant operations in Tulsa (Oklahoma), Nashville (Tennessee), and Juarez, Mexico. Mr. Price is leaving day-to-day operations at the glass plants to his senior management team. He and his firm have been negotiating with Ford since reaching a preliminary agreement a year ago. Ford opened the Tulsa plant in 1974, then spun it off into the Visteon Corp. seven years ago. Visteon found itself in financial difficulties due mainly to pension liabilities, and Ford took the part divisions back under the Automotive Components Holdings group three years ago.
