A group of individual shareholders in Poland“s KHS Krosno glass works are planning to take control of the company, according to daily Parkiet. At present, they control over 10% of capital and are continuing to acquire shares. They will shortly register themselves as a Minority Investor Association. “We want to summon a general shareholders meeting and replace the supervisory board. Our aim is to restructure Krosno and make it profitable again. In less than two weeks, our presence in the company should exceed 20%”, said the prospective head of the association Pawel Kicinski. On 2 February 2009 a representative of the minority investors filed a complaint at the Warsaw Prosecutor“s Office against the glass works“ largest shareholder, Zdzislaw Sawicki. Mr. Sawicki is alleged to have used privileged information to sell a stake of over 30% in Krosno before it revealed its problems with currency options.
