Photovoltaic systems specialist Centrosolar Group AG announced in December 2009 that it has opened an international branch in the Netherlands to intensify its existing activities in Benelux. Managing director of the branch, based in Tiel, 30 kilometres south of Utrecht, will be Michiel van Schalkwijk, who has more than 15 years of experience in the solar industry. Until now, Centrosolar“s activities regarding its existing network of customers for Belgium and the Netherlands have been managed from Germany. With the new branch and local presence, the company expects to see an increase in revenue in the important Belgian and Dutch PV markets focussed on solar modules for private households and larger systems for industrial roofs. The Dutch subsidiary, which anticipates that the sales volume will ultimately reach the double-digit megawatt range, thanks to attractive subsidies available, will supply crystalline solar modules, systems for roof integration and thin-film systems. In 2008, Centrosolar, which has other branches in Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Greece and the US, generated more than 60% of its revenue internationally.
