Quartz glass, silica and other technical glass materials require tooling that can maintain control during cutting and grinding without compromising finish quality. The correct bond, grit, tool geometry and operating conditions can all have a direct impact on process stability and final component quality.
DK Holdings Limited manufactures Resin Bond Diamond Tooling for specialist glass and hard material applications from its ISO-certified production facilities in the United Kingdom. The range supports customers working with glass, ceramics, tungsten carbide and other hard, brittle or abrasive materials where controlled cutting, grinding and finishing are required.

Within the glass sector, DK’s Resin Bond Diamond Glass Blades are used for cutting glass tubes and specialist glass products, including silica, quartz and scientific glassware. When used wet, the blades are designed to provide a fast, clean cut and long tool life.
Resin bond tooling is also used for precision grinding applications where controlled abrasive action and surface finish are important. DK’s resin bond capability includes diamond and CBN cup wheels, internal grinders, peri wheels and other grinding tools manufactured to suit individual production requirements.
For glass-related applications, diamond is typically selected for hard, brittle and non-ferrous materials, while CBN is used for ferrous materials such as hardened steels and superalloys. Tool selection depends on the material being machined, the machine set-up, coolant use, required tolerance, surface finish and production environment.
DK Holdings manufactures both standard and bespoke resin bond tooling. Dimensions, profiles, body types, grits and bonds can be tailored to the customer’s application, helping processors work with materials and geometries that may not be suited to an off-the-shelf tooling option.
This application-led approach is particularly important in technical glass processing, where material behaviour, heat generation, chipping risk and finish expectations can vary significantly between applications.
With more than 65 years of diamond tooling experience, DK Holdings supports customers across the glass, engineering, aerospace, automotive, defence, medical, energy and general manufacturing sectors, combining UK manufacturing capability with practical technical support.
DK Holdings is showcasing its Resin Bond Diamond Tooling range during glasstec 2026 from October 20 to 23 at Stand B24 in Hall 11, alongside its Flexible Diamond, Metal Bond and Electroformed/Electroplated Diamond Tooling ranges for glass processors.
