A week in the life of the FEVE team

A busy week of conversations, insights and engagement on the policies shaping Europe’s industrial future

From parliamentary hearings to policy debates, it’s been a busy week for FEVE in Brussels and Strasbourg. Here’s a glimpse of what FEVE has been up to.

Putting the EU ETS in focus
Last week, FEVE Secretary General Carlo Pirrone attended a hearing at the European Parliament on the review of the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), alongside the Italian delegation of the S&D Group. An important opportunity to discuss the future of the ETS and its implications for European industry.

Discussing the future of European industry
This week in Strasbourg, Vanessa Chesnot, Carlo Pirrone and Min-Seo Kim joined a Kangaroo Group lunch debate on the Industrial Accelerator Act (IAA), exchanging views with Kathleen Van Brempt and Tomoslav Sokov on “Made in Europe” requirements and the evolving EU industrial and trade policy landscape.

Following Europe’s clean energy debate
The team also followed a plenary discussion in Strasbourg on the need to expand affordable, low-carbon energy and the infrastructure needed to deliver it. Meanwhile, negotiations on the Grids Package are moving forward, with the EU institutions aiming to conclude them by the end of the year.

A first Strasbourg experience
For the new colleague Min-Seo, the week was also a chance to experience the European Parliament in full swing during plenary week, get a first-hand look at EU policymaking and explore Strasbourg.
