Gerresheimer partners with Interlake Mecalux to automate two warehouses

As demand for healthcare products continues to rise, leading manufacturers are turning to automation to ensure precision, traceability and scalability.

That’s exactly what Gerresheimer has done at its Peachtree City, Georgia, USA, facilities.

To support growing production of critical medical devices, Gerresheimer partnered with Interlake Mecalux to automate two warehouses with pallet AS/RS technology and Easy WMS.

The results are:

  • Increased storage capacity and productivity
  • 24/7 logistics operations with near year-round availability
  • Complete traceability of medical device components
  • Greater accuracy, safety and control across warehouse processes

“In the medical industry, there’s no room for error. End-to-end product traceability and control are essential for guaranteeing quality,” said Tobias Gebhard, Global Head of Smart Factory Automation at Gerresheimer.

By combining intelligent warehouse management with automated storage systems, Gerresheimer has strengthened its position as a leader in the North American healthcare market while building a logistics operation ready for future growth.
