The synergy between Conserve Italia and Verallia Italia has continued for over 30 years, underpinned by a shared vision and common goals. This journey has recently entered a new chapter with the launch of the Derby Blue Frutta Frizzante carbonated drinks range, a symbol of an evolution that brings together product innovation and packaging value, which was presented to the public for the first time at Tuttofood (Milan, May 11 to 14).
At the heart of this initiative is the distinctive cobalt blue glass, an iconic element of the unconventional fruit brand Derby Blue, applied for the first time to the 200 ml Tropical format, traditionally produced in clear glass and designed for this type of fruit drink, giving rise to a distinctive and highly recognisable proposition on shelf. Underpinning this achievement is a synergy built up over the years, ensuring both continuity and production efficiency and high quality standards. The blue glass is not merely a distinctive visual and identity element. It also represents a commitment to environmental sustainability and product quality.
Produced with a high proportion of post-consumer recycled content (71 percent external cullet, a Verallia Italia average figure, blue colour, 2025, external cullet), the blue glass helps reduce the carbon dioxide emissions impact on the atmosphere. It also protects the contents of the bottles from light, preserving product quality to the highest degree and enhancing the overall value of the offering.
It is no coincidence that the collaboration between the two companies extends across Conserve Italia’s brand portfolio (Cirio, Yoga, Derby Blue, Valfrutta, Jolly Colombani), confirming the strategic role of glass packaging as a driver of innovation, sustainability and market positioning. It is a shared journey that continues to evolve, with the aim of developing ever more recognisable and responsible solutions.
