On October 1, 2025, the kick-off meeting of the Glass Panel Technology Group took place at Fraunhofer IZM in Berlin. With 15 major companies from across the entire value chain, like material suppliers and manufacturers to system integrators.
Fraunhofer IZM thanks everybody for the lively exchange to form the only group worldwide that deals with the technological future of glass substrates on this format. Companies interested in joining this pioneering initiative are cordially invited to participate.
The objectives of the working group are:
- Establishment of partnerships for knowledge and technology exchange related to glass panel technology like TGVs and RDL on glass
- Building up glass-based substrates on large panel format and conducting reliability tests
- Promotion of advanced packaging with glass as a key material
The goal is to further develop the technology and strengthen the competitiveness of the participating companies. The group includes key GCS players like SCHOTT, SCHMID Group, LPKF Laser & Electronics SE and others.
