Glass Futures welcomes collaboration with JGBA

Last week, Glass Futures had the pleasure of welcoming members of the Japanese Glass Bottle Association (JGBA) to their research facility in St Helens.

The visit was highly productive, with open dialogue and strong alignment on key priorities including innovation, decarbonisation and international collaboration. JGBA members showed keen interest in technical solutions and the future project pipeline, while Glass Futures explored opportunities for shared learning and scalable innovation across borders.

During the tour, the full capabilities of the site were showcased, from the furnace and forehearth to the IS machine and rolled plate line, highlighting how Glass Futures’ open-access innovation ecosystem is accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future for glass manufacturing and beyond.

“It’s inspiring to see such strong international alignment on the future of glass,“ said Justin Kelly, Glass Futures CEO. “The JGBA’s visit reinforces the power of collaboration in driving meaningful change across the global industry.”

Glass Futures is excited about the potential for future partnerships and look forward to continuing this dialogue with their colleagues in Japan.
