With the glass industry at a critical juncture in its decarbonization journey, nowhere will this be more evident than at Vitrum 2025, where the conference “Decarbonization in the Glass Industry”, organised by GlassOnLine, is set to take place on Wednesday, September 17, from 09h30 to 16h00 in Conference Hall 9.
Chaired by GlassOnLine Senior Editor of Nicolaas François Fouché, the conference will provide a strategic platform to explore current technologies, cutting edge innovations and feasible sustainable pathways that are already defining the glass industry’s future – all against the backdrop of tightening EU climate legislation that includes a binding 55 percent emissions cut by 2030, net-zero by 2050 and a proposed 90 percent target for 2040.
The line-up of speakers includes key voices from Glass Service Italy, Stara Glass & Glass Futures, Fives, RHI Magnesita, Celsian, Land Ametek, Topsoe, Schneider Electric, Linde Technology, GSE – Gestore dei Servizi Energetici, Assovetro (Associazione Nazionale degli Industriali del Vetro), FEVE (the European Container Glass Federation), Glass for Europe, OCMI-OTG, Stazione Sperimentale del Vetro, Saint-Gobain, NSG-Pilkington Italia, Iocco Group – all of whom will be discussing ongoing commitments towards Net Zero in glass.
