Verallia signs the new Zucchi bottle

Verallia, one of the world’s leading producers of glass containers for the food and beverage industry, has partnered with Oleificio Zucchi to redesign its range of olive oils for the retail channel. This strategic collaboration has led to the creation of an entirely new bottle, designed to coherently and powerfully reflect the renewed identity of the Zucchi brand.

The project stems from a co-design process involving Verallia from the early development stages, alongside Oleificio Zucchi and Robilant & Associati. The new bottle combines aesthetic elegance, ergonomic form and environmental sustainability. Its distinctive shape has been carefully crafted to provide a more comfortable and natural grip, while the label—designed by Robilant & Associati—is large, made of paper, and enhanced with embossed lettering to ensure greater readability and practicality. The pourer has also been redesigned for more precise dosing, improving the everyday user experience.

From an environmental standpoint, the bottle marks a significant step forward: it is made of 88 percent dark recycled glass, a choice that protects the oil from light exposure and reduces environmental impact. Across the entire product range—including the olive oil itself—a dark container has been adopted, a decision that reinforces the brand’s premium positioning and perceived quality.

“We wanted to celebrate the heritage of our company with a range of olive oils that reflects our dedication to quality and sustainability,” said Alessia Zucchi, CEO of Oleificio Zucchi. “Each bottle is an invitation to rediscover the value of oil as a key ingredient to enhance every dish. We are delighted to have worked with Verallia on this project—a partner capable of turning a graphic concept into an industrially feasible and distinctive bottle that perfectly embodies the values of our brand.”

Verallia also highlighted the value of this partnership as a virtuous example of shared innovation: “We are proud to have been Oleificio Zucchi’s partner in a project that represents an important milestone in the brand’s evolution,” stated the Verallia Italia team. “This collaboration shows how glass can fully express the values of authenticity, innovation and sustainability, strengthening the identity of a brand that is both rooted in history and focused on the future.”

With this new bottle, Verallia reaffirms its role as a strategic partner for companies that see glass not just as a container, but as a tangible expression of their brand positioning and commitment to a more sustainable future.
