ABOUT STEVANATO GROUP
The Stevanato Group was
founded in 1949 and has since
developed systems, processes,
and services that guarantee the
integrity of parenteral drugs. It
comprises two operational divi-
sions to supply the pharmaceu-
tical industry: Pharmaceutical
Systems with Ompi, a leading
manufacturer of glass primary
packaging, and Balda, a special-
ist in plastic products and appli-
cation instruments; Engineering
Systems with Spami, Optrel,
InnoScan, and SVM, which
specializes in glass processing
and control systems as well as
assembly and packaging solu-
tions.

At its sites in Italy, Slovakia,
Mexico, China and Brazil, Ompi
produces a broad range of glass
primary packaging from tradi-
tional products like vials and
ampoules to high-quality prod-
ucts like syringes and cartridges
for autoinjectors and pen injec-
tors. Vials, cartridges and syring-
es are also available in sterile
and ready-to-fill format (Ompi
®
EZ-fill ).
INTELLIGENT DEFECT
RECOGNITION
All of Gerresheimer’s tubular
glass plants that produce vials
work with standardized moni-
toring, inspection, and packag-
ing technologies, which essen-
tially comprise the Gx G3 and Gx
RHOC systems. The inspection
systems, for one, are developed
in house and form part of a close-
knit testing system that ensures
the highest precision and quality
assurance in line with the lat-
est standards. Complete with five
HD cameras, the Gx G3 inspec-
tion system makes sure that cos-
metic defects are identified reli-
ably, for instance. The intelligent
software detects and classifies
