system to achieve the best glass
quality with maximum efficiency.
BATCH CHARGING
Batch charging is accomplished

with the newest EME-NEND -S3

charger via an IRD Doghouse.

The EME-NEND -S3 batch
charger and the sealed SORG
®
IRD Doghouse ensure dust-free
charging and a constant combus-
tion process within the furnace.
The intrusion of false air is pre-
vented and the combustion pro-
cess is thus not disturbed.
The batch house delivered by
EME is a tower system, designed
for the highest flexibility in pro-
duction of the various glass col-
ours (various formulas) for two
furnaces and with a total capacity
of 700 tpd. It feeds not only the
SB4 but the future SB5 furnace
as well, which is going to be com-
missioned in mid-2018.
The raw material feeding for
sand is mechanical. A pneu-
matic feeding unit is used for
the other main raw materials.
Small components are delivered
in Big Bags or as bagged cargo
and are filled manually into the
respective silos. Recipe-accurate
weighing of the individual raw
materials or premix is realized
via a total of five container and
small component scales.
