AREAS OF ACTIVITY
The German company futronic GmbH is an
electronics industry enterprise, involved in the
development, manufacturing and distribution
of technical systems, particularly of electronic
control and information systems for hollow
glass and tableware production, the packing
and the mechanical engineering industry.
Strong with stemware
futronic has developed a completely new
control concept for rotary glassblowing ma-
chines. The system is based on the Siemens
Simotion platform which integrates PLC functio-
nality, motion control and technology functions
such as those for controlling the hydraulic
components of the press. The control solution
is divided into two distinct systems. futronic’s
FBC blow machine control system unites
machine control equipment and synchronous
drive in one system. It is specially tailored to all t $"/PQFO® safety bus,
items manufactured using the blow-and-blow
method. The modular concept is suitable for
controlling rotary blowing machines with up
to 32 moulding sections. With FBC the indivi-
dual blowing sections of a rotary glassblowing
machine can now be operated autonomously.
The advantages: if a fault occurs, each seg-
ment can be replaced in a maximum of ten
minutes, the control system recognizes the
new segment fully automatically. That means
a huge reduction in downtime.
The futronic FPC press machine control sy-
stem, a modular control and drive system
for up to 28 moulding sections, controls the
presses that actually make the stems. It is
optimized for the high-precision control of the
servo-hydraulic plunger with absolute repea-
tability. Gob weight can be adjusted either by
altering the viscosity of the glass flow in the
platinum feeder or by means of the servo fee-
der. Fire polishing and Burn-off machines or
other production components
can be integrated into the control
system environment without any
problems. The new control con-
cept for blow and press machi-
nes is designed for installation in
equipment incorporating the very
newest technology as well as for
retrofitting or modernizing older
lines. futronic control systems

more reliable, resulting in higher
product quality, significantly im-
proving productivity.
E-Timing system FMT24S SUPPLIERS 2015
The FMT24S is a state-of-the-art distributed
machine control system. It consists of modu-
les which are networked with each other and
use, to a large degree, industrial busses for
their communication. Expansions with FMT24S
specific modules, but also with standard, bus-
capable digital I/O modules, analog I/O modu-
les and interface converters etc. are possible.

The modular technology used in the system,
and its style of integration, offer customers a
high degree of flexibility. Each installation is
manufactured specifically for that particular
customer, taking into account special local
conditions, environmental conditions and
investments already made.
Synchronous Drive System (FDU24S)
Based on the experience of more than
190 installations of drive systems, futro-
nic has introduced its latest
co-production: The Synchronous
Drive FDU24S allows the use of
Servo motors and is completely
operated by means of a PC.
The Synchronous Drive
FDU24S can be integrated
into a futronic E-Timing Sy-
stem enabling the operator to
control both E-Timer and Drive
System with the same terminal
and control software (OT), eli-
minating the need for separate
adjustment.
