Zytronic PLC, the UK-based manufacturer of touchscreens and laminated glass products, said full year profits more than doubled as sales rose 21%, thanks to a strong performance from its Zytouch touchscreens. For the year to 30 September 2005, the company posted pretax profit of GBP 984,000 compared to GBP 350,000 on sales of GBP 10.6 million, up from GBP 8.8 million. The company said the growth in gross margin to 31.0%, against 29.3%, came from the increase in sales and change in the product mix with touchscreens becoming the main part of the business. “The continued improvement in sales, margin and profitability, the successful launch of our Zypos touchscreens, consistent substantial growth in sales of Zytouch touchscreens, and the strong executive management team provide a solid basis for the continued improvement of the group“s operations going forward”, said chairman John Kennair. The final dividend was GBP 0.015 per share, bringing the total dividend for the year to GBP 0.02.
