Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Limited has signed a sales contract with leading Spanish EPC company Maessa Telecomunicaciones, Ingenieria, Instalaciones Y Servicios, S.A. (MAETEL), which belongs to the industrial division of A.C.S. Group, one of Europe“s largest infrastructure development companies. As per the terms of this contract, Yingli Green Energy will supply 33 MW of PV modules to MAETEL from the beginning of October 2010 through the end of April 2011. The PV modules supplied by Yingli are expected to be installed in a PV solar power plant located in Curbans, France. According to energy supplier GDF Suez Group, the plant owner, the 33 MW PV solar power plant in Curbans will be France“s largest PV solar power facility and is expected to produce 43.5 million kilowatt hours of renewable energy each year. This amount is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 14,500 households (excluding heating). Compared with a fuel oil power plant, it will create an annual reduction of about 120,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions. “We are pleased to announce this exciting cooperation with MAETEL,” said Liansheng Miao, chairman and chief executive officer of Yingli Green Energy. “This contract provides more positive visibility into the demand momentum in the emerging European solar markets. Moreover, we are glad to see that our customers in existing markets are actively exploring market opportunities beyond their domestic scope, which will help us further diversify our market exposure.” Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Limited, owner of the Yingli Solar brand, is a leading solar energy company and one of the world“s largest vertically integrated photovoltaic manufacturers. Yingli Green Energy“s manufacturing covers the entire photovoltaic value chain, from the production of polysilicon, ingot casting and wafering, to solar cell production and assemble of modules, with a balanced production capacity of over 600 MW per year. Two projects regarding capacity expansion of 300 MW and 100 MW are under construction in Baoding and Hainan, respectively, and are expected to bring Yingli Green Energy“s total capacity to 1 GW by the end of 2010. Yingli Green Energy distributes its photovoltaic modules to a wide range of markets, including Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, France, South Korea, China and the US. Spanish MAETEL is part of the industrial group SEMI MAESSA, which is incorporated within the industrial division of A.C.S. MAETEL“s main activities are: electricity generation and distribution; renewable energy sources and the environment; industrial installations and engineering and telecommunications installations.
