26 November 1998: International managers of the Leonardo da Vinci partnership from Denmark, Sweden, Germany, the Czech Republic and Ireland visited the Wedgwood headquarters in Barlaston to discuss the EU-funded “Sesame Project“ which was set up in 1997 by the Waterford Institute of Technology and Waterford Crystal in Ireland. The three-year project is aimed at developing an innovative approach to the provision of further and higher education to employees in industry who are experiencing changes in their working environment. The group, which has previously paid a visit to the Waterford factory in Ireland, toured the Barlaston plant together with the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery in Hanley.
