China and crystal manufacturer Waterford Wedgwood has pledged to double the size of its business over the next five years. The group, which employs Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, former wife of the Duke of York, to advertise its Wedgwood china in the US, says it aims to buy other luxury brands to boost its size. In support of its expansion plans, the Irish-based company has promoted Redmond O“Donoghue from his position as head of the group“s Waterford Crystal division, to the newly-created post of chief operating officer. Mr O“Donoghue said: “Our goal is, once again, to double the size of the group over the next five years. “This will be achieved both organically and through the acquisition of other luxury brands which meet our key criteria.”
