Crystal and china maker Waterford Wedgwood PLC had its best September sales since 2003, and expects October sales to show healthy growth over 2006. The firm said it is in negotiations to raise EUR 50 million through the issue of preference shares. At its AGM, it said production and sales in the six-months ended September 2007 have been affected because the capital injection announced earlier was not finalised until early July. The company said, however, sales trends are strongly positive. As of 1 October 2007, the group said its total order book was up 11% over 2006.
