Waterford Wedgwood expects crystal and china sales to return to growth in the next year or two and the company should be back in the black within the next year, chief executive Peter Cameron said on 27 June 2007. “We“re really hopeful that this year will be the turnaround year”, Mr. Cameron said in a telephone interview. “Our intent is to end the year profitably”. Cameron said that a combination of cost cutting and new products with higher margins had led to a big fall in the company“s losses in the 12 months to the end of March 2007. On the question of when he expected Waterford Wedgwood to turnaround declining revenues while demand for its luxury tableware is weak, Mr. Cameron said “higher quality” sales should ensure a return to revenue growth. “I think we“ll see that over the next year or two”, he said.
